"The justification for a TubeInspect is that it makes every aspect of your business better allowing you to make a higher quality product faster. It helps make all of your equipment become faster and more accurate."

TubeInspect offers better GR&R (Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility), faster cycle times and is much easier to run than an articulating arm. TubeInspect is easier and faster for operators than using a fixture and provides numerical output.

TubeInspect Speed

  • Faster feedback. TubeInspect provides faster feedback after the first part is made on a bender. Comparing the time require to set up and run a part on an articulating arm, the TubeInspect will save between 25% to 75%.
  • First piece setup time. There are many setup costs that go beyond the operator’s cost per hour. Typically there is more than one person working on a setup and machine downtime affects the productivity of the entire plant. Automating the feedback to the bender allows for faster setup times, fewer errors in setup.

TubeInspect Accuracy

  • TubeInspect customers can effectively measure problem parts they have always struggled with. In some cases, after using the TubeInspect the setup time was dropped considerably, but more importantly the part fit the fixture better than it ever had before “Like a hand in a glove”..
  • The loading of the TubeInspect system consists of placing the tube on the TubeInspect light table. There is little chance for any operator to influence the result.
  • Not only does the TubeInspect system provides more accurate feedback for setup, it also gives you feedback that Articulating arms cannot, to include Bend-in-Bend data, 180 degree turns and small 2 degree bends.
  • Reduced veriability in measurement process provides better production control and makes it easier to stay within manufacturing tolerances

Easy to Use on the Factory Floor

  • Running an articulating arm requires a higher skill and training level than using TubeInspect. Typically articulated arms are assigned to the QC department. The TubeInspect system is faster, more accurate and easier to use allowing bender operators to do their own inspection. TubeInspect is an optical gage, which is suitable for use on the production floor.

Statistical Process Control

  • TubeInpsect is SPC capable. In the past SPC has not been done on bent tubes. Due to the cycle time and GR&R on an arm or that fixtures cannot output numerical data. With the TubeInspect SPC is possible, even on short runs.
  • Since measurement is faster and easier, bender performance can be monitored for trends. This will allow you to know the performance of your different benders to help you to choose the best bender for the job.

Automation

  • Total automation can be accomplished with the addition of a Robot holding the tube in the measurement range of the TubeInspect system. The robot does not even need to release the tube while it is being measured.

Reliability

  • TubeInspect has no moving parts. Cameras are permanently mounted on rigid steel supports and are enclosed in a robust housing. The light table base is covered by a tough polycarbonate layer.

Committment to your Customers

  • TubeInspect allows you to produce higher quality tubes efficiently
  • Reducing measurement bottlenecks improves delivery times
